Epic Napoleon: 2nd Battalion, 73rd Regiment of Foot

And as promissed here is the second regiment I just finished: The 73rd.

During the battle, the 2nd Battalion was part of the Union Brigade, commanded by Major-General Sir David Douglas, which was assigned to defend the Allied left flank. They were heavily engaged in fierce fighting against the French Imperial Guard, and despite taking heavy casualties, the 2nd Battalion helped hold the line and prevent the French from breaking through the Allied lines and turning their flank.

One of the notable actions of the 2nd Battalion during the battle was their defense of the La Haye Sainte farm, which was an important position that protected the Allied center. The farm was defended by a detachment of the King’s German Legion, supported by the 2nd Battalion of the 73rd Regiment, who held off repeated French assaults and protected the farm from being captured by the enemy. This action was critical in helping to maintain the integrity of the Allied center and ensuring their victory in the battle.
