On Thursday night (23:34 CEST to be exact) I finished the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Foot Guards also known as the Scots Guards.
At Waterloo the Scots Guards were part of the ‘Guards Divison under Major General Cooke. In here they formed, together with the Coldstream Guards (which I painted earlier but I have no suitable pictures so no post here in the blog), the 2nd British Brigade lead by Major-General Sir John Byng. The 3rd Foot Guards were positioned on the ridge just behind Hougoumont Farm where they fought heavily and held the farm against all odds, while suffering well over 200 men killed or wounded.
That much to the history of the battalion at Waterloo here the pictures
